A pleasant dose of kitty cat,
Who twists and turns, imagine that!
To fit in a box, or on a lap
A wonderful dose of kitty cat!
Paws, a tail, a curled up kitty
Warm soft pillow, pastel fur
Relaxed and smiling, dreaming Quidi
Listen - just the slightest purr...
Oh that tail, a flapping sail
In the breeze of hidden dreams
Curling a bit like the shell of a snail
With a mind of its own, it seems
Two pets, named Kwazii and Quidi
Each one was a playful kitty
One roamed far and wide
And one stayed inside
But both cats were very pretty!
Willa was a wonder
As she sprang upon the chair
It fell like crashing thunder
Pieces flying through the air
No claw-marks on the wood
No fur upon the seat
But she did all a naughty kitty could
To make the wreck complete
She jumped on what was left
Splinters flew across the floor
Thirteen pounds of feline heft
And feline anger, even more
That will teach you, thankless man
To leave me home here, all alone
What nerve, what makes you think you can!
Would you trade Love for Twilight Zone?
If not, don't leave your furry friend
Here at the house, while skipping town
Cause if you do, t'will be the end...
Next time I'll tear the whole house down!!
This is the yard where Pizza plays
On moonlit nights and sunny days
With cat adventures all around
But fenced, to keep her safe and sound
This, the house that Pizza calls home
With plenty of stairs, and rooms, to roam
Music for listening, and feasts to eat,
And beds to curl up on, at somebody's feet.
This is the family that she calls her own
Full of good people, she's never alone
She has little places she goes to retreat
But she's mostly quite social, and always quite sweet!
We still feel her with us when the sun shines above
And a bunched up blanket reminds us of love
That only a soft little Pizza could give
But it seems like she's gone - where does she live?
In memories galore, in the yard, in the house
Chasing a dustball like it were a mouse
Purring, and jumping up onto a chair
Just remember her now, and you'll find that she's there...!
I have a friend whose dog gazed out across a nearby hill
Wondering, perhaps, about a car out on the drive,
A bird up on a branch, golden leaves, and autumn chill
Sitting still, yet feeling full of joy, to be alive
Older now, but just as sweet as ever she has been
Soft big ears alert, and longing for the gentle hand
That reaches out in human love to greet her there, just when
She longs for affirmation in her little doggie-land
We sit by windows, every time our eyes are open, too
And see the beauty of the world around us, everywhere
Settled, in the moment, gazing out on earthly view
When hand from heaven reaches down, with love, to touch us there!
